New Wilco Vid

As is correct for any self respecting fan of American Indie Rock goodness, I am duly excited by the forthcoming new Wilco album, The Whole Love. I missed the streaming of the album in its entirety which was up for a devilishly small time on their wilcoworld website. Alas, here I share not the whole album but one song and its video, all I've heard of the album due to my tardiness. Needless to say, it's rather good, and its video reminds me somewhat of that for Smashing Pumpkins' 1979. Though instead of trying to capture the fleetingness of youth or beauty or whatever Corgan and co aspired to, Wilco are content to make their montages simple. Just guitars and the band and stuff. Albeit stylish stuff inkeeping with the upbeat radio friendly vibe of the song (if not the lyrics-"spit and swallowed opiods", anyone?). It reminds me somewhat of Kamera from Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, but with more flashy fretwork. Watch this space for more shamelessly uncritical fawning over whatever Tweedy and chums do next.
